GymTrack ("we", "our", or "the app") is a fitness tracking application for iPhone and Apple Watch. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.
Data Stored on Your Device
All of your workout data — exercises, sets, reps, weights, templates, and tags — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate any servers or cloud storage. Your data never leaves your device except as described below.
On Apple Watch, data is held in memory only for the duration of the session and is not persisted to disk.
Health & Fitness Data (HealthKit)
GymTrack integrates with Apple HealthKit to enhance your workout tracking experience. With your explicit permission, the app may read and write the following data:

HealthKit data is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to any external server. You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in Settings > Health > Data Access.
iPhone & Apple Watch Sync
GymTrack uses Apple's WatchConnectivity framework to sync workout data between your iPhone and Apple Watch. This is a direct, peer-to-peer connection between your own devices — no data passes through our servers or any third-party service.
Data synced includes: exercises, workout sets, rest timer state, and real-time workout metrics (heart rate, calories, distance).
Analytics & Crash Reporting
We use AppMetrica (by Yandex) to collect anonymized usage analytics and crash reports. This helps us understand how the app is used and fix issues. The following data may be collected:
- Screen views and feature usage events
- Crash logs and diagnostic data
- Device identifier (for analytics and advertising attribution)
- General performance metrics
Analytics data is sent to AppMetrica servers. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information through analytics.
Tracking & Advertising
The app may use your device identifier for advertising attribution purposes via AppMetrica. In accordance with Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, we will ask for your permission before any tracking occurs.
You can change your tracking preference at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
GymTrack does not display advertisements and does not sell your data to third parties.
In-App Purchases
Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's StoreKit framework. We do not have access to your payment information. Purchase history may be included in anonymized analytics to help us improve our subscription offerings.
Notifications
With your permission, GymTrack sends local notifications for rest timer alerts. These notifications are generated on your device and do not involve any remote push notification service.
Location Data
GymTrack may access coarse or precise location data indirectly through HealthKit for outdoor workout tracking. The app does not independently request location permissions or track your location outside of workout sessions.
No Account Required
GymTrack does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information such as your name or email address. The app is fully functional without any form of registration.
Data Export & Deletion
You have full control over your data:
- Export — You can export all your workout data as a JSON file at any time from the app's settings.
- Import — You can restore previously exported data.
- Delete — Removing the app from your device permanently deletes all locally stored data. There is no server-side data to delete.

Children's Privacy
GymTrack is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
